The Support Habit
"You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your being, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself."
"And who is my neighbor?"
Luke 10:27, 29
Assignment #2: Quick Conversation
Get out your phone or computer right now and reach out to the three people on your Evangelization Support Spreadsheet.
It doesn’t matter what you use to get in touch. It doesn’t matter what you say. Just reach out and get in touch with them.
In the video you will see there is are increasing levels of intimacy with each way to communicate. In the next four weeks, do your best to communicate with your support list in increasing ways. For now, though, just reach out.
Say hello. Ask how they are doing. Continue a recent conversation.
It doesn’t matter what you say, just reach out.
Once you finish texting, messaging, or calling them, record the outreach in the Evangelization Support Spreadsheet.
This is the first habit:
Constant Communication
A habit is something you continue to do. Later this week you are going to reach out again and continue the conversation. You are going to constantly communicate with these people offering support if necessary.
This first evangelization habit, I know, doesn't feel like evangelization at all. You don't need to quote Scripture or teach the Catechism or anything like that. You just need to show up and support. Love your neighbor as yourself.
The Good Samaritan supported the victim without asking for anything in return. He had no message to offer. He simply offered support when it was needed.
Go and do likewise day after day.
